Inter-bank turnover of Rs 2130 billion in seven months of FY 2021/22



KATHMANDU: During the seven months of the current Fiscal Year 2021/22, inter-bank transactions has amounted to Rs. 2130 billion.

According to the report ‘Current Economic and Financial Situation of the Country’ released by Nepal Rastra Bank, the inter-bank transactions have been more than Rs. 2130 billion.

NRB data revealed that the turnover between commercial banks was Rs 1893 billion and Rs 236 billion during the period.

In the seven months of the last Fiscal Year 2020/21, there was an inter-bank transaction of Rs. 492 billion between the banks. During the same period, the interbank turnover was Rs 363 billion between commercial banks and Rs 129 billion between other banks and financial institutions.

The turnover was badly impacted by the widespread of COVID-19 pandemic last year.
