Though everyone forgot BP, Lingden follows his path: Actress Koirala

KATHMANDU: Renowned actress Manisha Koirala has said that although everyone has forgotten Bishweshwar Prasad (BP) Koirala, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)’s Chairman Rajendra Lingden was following the path guided by the leader.

Addressing the election meeting of RPP in Pokhara on Friday, she said that she stood with Lingden because he was on the path guided by BP.

“The path shown by BP, national reconciliation, monarchy and multi-party democratic system, this is what BP showed would strengthen the country and Lingden has truly embraced those values. That’s why I’m standing here,” said Manisha, who is BP’s granddaughter.

Praising the RPP Chairman, Manisha mentioned she liked Lingden’s opening lines “When a political leader visits villages, villagers say thief has come” during his speeches.

“A thief is someone who promises us, gives us hope, shows us dreams and doesn’t deliver,” Manisha said.

She said that she liked all the points of the RPP election manifesto. She expressed her wish of making the RPP victorious and restoring monarchy in the country.

She said despite BP Koirala and King Mahendra shared mutual respect and goodwill, the country had lost an opportunity as they could not cooperate with each other during that era.

Reminding that the country has similar opportunity now, she stressed that the people should not let this opportunity pass this time.
