KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai discussed the possibility of making an electoral front.

In a meeting held at a house in Hattiban on Thursday, they discussed contesting the upcoming November 20 elections by making a front.

Dr. Bhattarai, who has intensified meetings after the formation of the Nepal Samajwadi Party, proposed the formation of the front with Prachanda in the presence of Maoist leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, sources said.

A couple of days ago, Dr. Bhattarai had a meeting with Nepali Congress (NC) President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Former Prime Minister Bhattarai, who is likely to contest from Gorkha Constituency-2, has been insisting that he would prefer to remain in the ruling coalition and was interested to contest the upcoming elections by forging an electoral alliance with different parties.

Dr. Bhattarai has also been proposing leaders of other political parties form a Socialist Center encompassing all Left forces.

Even Prachanda and PM Deuba are said to have been positive to bring Dr. Bhattarai to the ruling alliance.
