CCP foreign department chief Liu meeting Nepal’s communist leaders



KATHMANDU: Visiting head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Liu Jianchao is meeting with leaders of the Communist parties on Monday.

He is scheduled to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Chairman of Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal.

It is said that they will discuss current political issues in the meeting, and the possibility of forming a Left alliance in Nepal.

On Sunday, Liu called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed.

He is scheduled to meet President Bidyadevi Bhandari on Monday. He will return home on Wednesday.

Liu arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday on a four-day visit to Nepal leading a six-member team.

This is Liu’s first visit to Nepal after his appointment as the Foreign Department Chief.
