Nepali migrant dies in Portugal



KATHMANDU: A Nepali, who was missing in Portugal for past two months, has been found dead in the sea.

The body of Sujan Silwal, 30, of Belkotgadhi Municipality-12 in Nuwakot district was recovered in the sea, Chairman of Non-Resident Nepalis Association Portugal chapter Rabin Adhikari said, quoting local police authorities.

According to Adhikari, Silwal’s body was found on April 16, the next day he went missing, but his identity was revealed just on Thursday. It is said that Silwal had drown in the sea at Paso De Arkos near Lisbon.

Silwal’s body is kept in a hospital.

Adhikari shared that Silwal’s family in Nepal has been informed and the family has urged to help send the dead body to Nepal.

Silwal had arrived in Portugal some seven years ago for a job. Recently, he had returned Portugal from Nepal on April 11.
