Two killed in separate road accidents



PACHTHAR: Two persons died and five others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Panchthar and Ilam districts.

According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, Suresh Sanwa, 22, died on the spot when a tractor (No. 1-02-003 Ta 1854) heading towards Thoklimba from Panchamukhi fell 10 feet below the road.

Similarly, Ishwori Prasad Kharel, 57, of Birtamod Municipality-3 of Jhapa has died in a jeep accident at Sukepokhari of Suryodaya municipality-7 of Ilam along the Jhapa-Ilam road section of Mechi Highway.

According to the State Police Office, Biratnagar, Kharel succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at B&C Hospital, Jhapa.
The vehicle was going to Phikal from Birtamod when the incident took place.

Six persons were injured when a jeep (No. 1-01-001 Cha 9193) fell some 100 meters from the road at 7 pm.

The injured are Ekraj Bista, 45, Dilli Basnet, 45, and Santosh Shrestha, 53, of Birtamod-4 and Tas Bahadur Pradhan, 47, of Birtamod-3. They are undergoing treatment at B & C Hospital.
