Nepal receives remittances amounting to over Rs 724 billion in nine months



KATHMANDU: Nepal has received remittances amounting to over Rs 724 billion in the nine months of the current fiscal year, 2021/22, a 0.6 percent decline, according to data published by the Nepal Rastra Bank on Wednesday.

The figure had increased by 16.5 percent during the same period in the previous FY, 2020/21.

Similarly, remittance in USD has declined by 2.2 percent to stand at over USD 6.05 billion.

The figure has seen a rise by 13.1 percent in the previous fiscal year.

Till the review date, the number of Nepali people aspiring for foreign jobs who got their final work permit (institutional and individual—new and certification) has increased 74.9 percent to hit 256,031 as compared to 74.9 percent decrement in the previous FY.

Similarly, the figure of Nepali foreign job aspirants who got their renewed labour permit has increased by 199.9 percent to reach 206,629 as opposed to 60.7 percent decline in the previous FY.
