Australia refunds student visa fees



BRISBANE: One of the leading destinations for the foreign students, Australia has announced to refund the visa fees of foreign students.

However, to be eligible for the refund the students should have entered Australia within January 19 to 19 March 2022.

In other words, student visa holders entering Australia between 19 January and 19 March 2022 can be benefited this facility.

As per the new provision, sub-classes of student visas 500, 560, 570, 571, 572, 573, 574 and 575 will be refunded. These visa holders who arrive within the stipulated time will be able to get their fee refunded by December 31, 2022. The visa fee is about $ 630.

Refund procedure

To get the visa fee back, the eligible students need to fill up the form number 1424 from Australian Home Ministry’s website.

After downloading and filling the form on the website, the application process can be expedited in two ways. In case of those who have paid the visa fee in ImmiAccount, they have to log in and go to Manage Payment. Then, they should proceed to go to Credit and press Request Refund. Even after requesting, the form number 1424 must be filled.  However, those who have not paid via ImmiAccount can just fill the 1424 form and post the the form to the Ministry of Home Affairs of the county they live. Within a few days of the application, the visa payment is credited to the designated bank account.
