Country is in need of consensus, unity: Madhav Kumar Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the country, at present, is for a common consensus and unity for it.

Pointing out the need for the elected people’s representatives to work with discipline and devotion, the former Prime Minister said, “We have come in a political playground with our individual competence and the art of speech. Triumph is not a big deal. We must implement pledges we have made with the people with discipline and devotion.”

There is a need for political leaders to cater to the need and aspirations of the people, and resolve their problems, he said.

Touching on the country’s economy, he called for a review of the economy that is heading towards a ‘crisis’, and for pursuing economic changes and development activities with political changes.

Similarly, newly elected member of the House of Representatives from the Bhaktapur constituency, Durlav Thapa, also the Nepali Congress leader, pointed out the need for forming a stable government for political stability and prosperity in the country.
