Sport strengthens people-to-people relations, Dahal says



KATHMANDU: Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that sport is a medium to strengthen people-to-people relations in society.

Inaugurating the Asia Rugby Under-18 at Dasharath Stadium today, the former Prime Minister said that sport has a vital role in promoting the national economy and deepening fraternity at the international level.

Organizing such an event in Nepal would ensure development of the country’s sports sector, he added.

In the tournament, eight teams of men and five women are participating from eight different Asian countries.
