Nagarik Unmukti Party sets condition to join government

KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party has set a condition to join the government.

The party has demanded the release of leaders including Reshamlal Chaudhary from jail as a pre-condition to participate in the government.

Party leader Ranjita Shrestha said that the party’s Secretariat meeting has already decided that if the jailed leaders and cadres, including Chaudhary are released, the party would participate in the government.

“We will participate in the government and start the campaign of nation-building only if party founder Resham and other leaders are released from jail,” she said.

Three leaders of Nagarik Unmukti Party including Chair Shrestha have won 3 seats in the House of Representatives under the first-past-the-post category.
