Recording details of candidates underway: Election Commission



KATHMANDU: The process of recording details of the candidates who registered their candidacy nomination for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly under the first-past-the-post system is under way, according to the Election Commission.

The candidates’ details will be recorded in the EC’s information system. According to latest data with the EC, under the HoR, the total 2,502 candidates (2,269 male and 233 female) registered their candidacy nomination, said the EC’s spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel.

Likewise, Under the Province Assembly, a total of 3,435 candidates (3,139 male and 296 female) registered their candidacy nomination. One can file complaints against the candidacies with the respective office of returning officer today itself.
