Tremor felt in Baitadi and Darchula



BAITADI: A tremor has been recorded in Baitadi and Darchula districts on Sunday evening.

The quake of magnitude 4.2 occurred in these two districts located in the far-west belt of the country, according to the Seismological Centre in Surkhet district.

The epicenter of the tremor was at Purba Sitola, some 17 kilometres away from Darchula’s Headquarters, informed Rajesh Sharma, assistant technical person at the Centre.

Police said that details of the quake-induced effect were awaited.

Prior to this, quakes of varying magnitudes were recorded in the western part of the country on 7 June, 11 May and 19 April, the Centre said.
