Aanbukhaireni-Muglin road to be closed for 11 hours for repair

MUGLIN: The Aanbukhaireni-Muglin section along the Prithivi Highway will remain closed for 11 hours (from 7.00 pm on Friday to 6.00 am on Saturday) for road repair.

The caved-in road at Aanbukhaireni-4 should be repaired, said the Road Division Office, Damauli.

As a result, only light vehicles are being allowed to ply on the deteriorated road, said division office chief Laxmi KC.

“The road was crumbled on Thursday night. So the stranded passengers and local people had to navigate to their destinations on foot.”

Meanwhile, Minister for Internal Affairs of Gandaki Province Dobate BK on Friday made an on-site inspection of the broken road.

On the occasion, the minister directed the authorities concerned to speed up road repair and resume two-way traffic operation.

It may be noted that two persons died when a car and a motorcycle overturned on the road having decrepit condition.

Of the deceased, one has been identified as Keshab Ghimire of Aanbukhaireni-2 and identity of another one is yet to be ascertained, said the police.
