Fire breaks out at party palace in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A fire broke out at a party palace at Khusibu in Kathmandu this evening, destroying properties worth approximately Rs 4.5 million, said the police.

Cause of the fire has yet to be known. The blaze took place at the store room and the kitchen of Classic Buffet Point Party Palace at Naya Bazaar Link Road at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-17 run by Ruresh Raj Shrestha.

The incident took place when food items were being prepared in the party palace for a marriage reception.

The fire was doused one hour later jointly by the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and local people with the help of a fire engine.

According to Kathmandu Police, further investigations are underway. (RSS)
