French delegation pays courtesy call on President Bhandari



KATHMANDU: President of France-Nepal Friendship Group of the French House of Representatives, Véronique Riotton led-delegation paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the latter’s office on Thursday.

The two sides exchanged views on various aspects of mutual interests and concerns to further deepen the mutual relations. Women empowerment, impact of climate change, efforts taken Nepal at political level for women empowerment, constitutional provisions in this regard and women’s freedom and equality, among other issues, were discussed.

On the occasion, President Bhandari praised the contributions made by the Friendship Group to deepen the seven decades long Nepal-France relations. The President expressed her views that Nepal-France relations based on mutual goodwill and understanding would be further strengthened from the high-level visits.

President of the Group Riotton along with the Vice Presidents, Nicolas Forissier and Graziella Melchior, and Ambassador of France to Nepal Gilles BOURBAO were present. Likewise, high-level officials from the Office of the President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present on the occasion.
