NEPSE rises 52.31 points to close at 2,566.90 on Thursday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed higher than preceding days on the last trading day of the week, Thursday.

The NEPSE index rose by 52.31 points to close at 2,566.90 points on Thursday. The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading activity of Class A companies, also went up by 6.34 points and stood at 493.53 points.

The total turnover has also improved slightly compared to Wednesday. A total of 5,610,631 shares of 226 listed-companies were trade through 43,538 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 2.79 billion today, Thursday.

Along with the gain in index, share prices of most companies have risen. Emerging Nepal Limited is the biggest gainer for the day. The company’s share price has increased by Rs 31 and reached Rs 341.50. Similarly, the share price of Karnali Development Bank and Nepal Hydro Developers Limited also witnessed gains.

Nevertheless, the share price of some companies has gone down. Today’s largest loser Mountain Energy Nepal’s share price decreased by Rs 35 to close at Rs 1,100. Similarly, the share price of Nepal Telecom fell by Rs 34 to close at Rs 1646 while the share price of Bottlers Nepal (Tarai) also fell by Rs 253 to Rs 13,587.
