Water taps distributed to 53 households in remote area

BANEPA: Water supply taps have been distributed to the local residents of remote Mahabharat rural municipality-6 in Kavrepalachowk.

As many as 380 local residents have been benefitted from the distribution of taps under the ‘one household, one tape’ distribution campaign. The tapes were distributed to 53 households and a public school.

The tape arrangement was made through the Bagmati province government special grant and rural municipality budget, shared ward-6 chairperson Ramesh Lungeli. He further noted that the arrangement will increase the access of remote area people to drinking water.

Rural Municipality’s Sub-Engineer Prakash Khadka informed that water supply has been made available to the households by constructing water tanks in three areas and placing main pipe through Balkhop water source.

The water source is around three-and-a-half kilometer away from the settlement. The project has been completed at the estimated cost of Rs 4.65 million.
