NC’s central performance committee meeting to take place today



KATHMANDU: A central performance meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is taking place for the first time following the accomplishment of its 14th general convention.

The meeting is taking place at party central office, Sanepa, at 2.00 pm today.

According to party office sources, the meeting would dwell on the agendas relating to sister and benevolent organization of the party completing the tenure, 16 district working committees that are yet to carry out the conventions and preparation for local level elections.

As part of the preparation of the performance committee meeting, the central office-bearers meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, on Wednesday. Earlier too, an internal meeting of the office-bearers, excluding President Sher Bahadur Deuba took place at party office on Tuesday.

The performance committee meeting is expected to take necessary decisions regarding leadership in five sister and benevolent organizations of the party which are vacated after the completion of tenure of their central working committee. The meeting will also take decision regarding district working committees of 16 districts which are yet to complete their conventions.

NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat shared that the party would decide as to how the party can strongly present in coming days based on the recommendation of the central performance on different issues, including local election. It may be noted that the government has decided to conduct local election on coming May 13.
