Banke locals panicked as authorities fail to contain man-eater



BANKE: Locals of Raptisonari rural municipality have been terrorized after the authorities failed to contain the tiger that has already claimed the lives of many people in Banke.

The tiger has been attacking people and the cattle for the last one week in Baijapur, Binauna and Phattepur, said Lal Bahadur Thapa of Raptisonari-6.

The tighter killed 29-year-old Chandari Tharu of Raptisonari-6, Phattepur on Saturday, Lila Bista of ward-4, Parsoni on Thursday.

Four people have been killed by the tiger in the last three months in Banke district. Earlier, one each was killed in Gabhar and Nainapur of Raptisonari-1 by the tiger.

A series of tiger attacks have left the locals panicked in the district.

Even though the Bake National Park has deployed a team of security personnel on two elephants to search the tiger for the last three days, it has not been able to take the tiger under control.
