Nagarik Unmukti Party puts Resham Chaudhary’s release as pre-condition to join govt



KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party has demanded the release of leaders including Reshamlal Chaudhary from the jail as a pre-condition to join the ruling coalition to participate in the government.

Speaking to media on Friday, party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha said that the secretariat meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on Friday afternoon decided that if the jailed leaders and cadres including Reshamlal Chaudhary are released, they can participate in the government.

“We will participate in the government and start the campaign of nation building only if party founder Resham Chaundhary and other leaders are released from jail,” she said.

Three leaders of Nagarik Unmukti Party including Chair Shrestha have won 3 seats in the House of Representatives under the first-past-the-post category.
