KATHMANDU: The Janamat Party, which received 394,655 votes under the proportional representation (PR) category in the November 20 general election will send 5 members to the House of Representatives (HoR).
Party Chairman CK Raut was the only candidate to be elected in the first-past-the-post side.
He was elected to the HoR from Saptari-2 by securing 35,042 votes defeating Janata Samajbadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav.
A meeting of the party’s central committee held on Thursday in Kathmandu decided to send the names of five members to the HoR under the proportional representation system.
A leader of the party said the party will send the names that have been submitted to the Election Commission.
It is likely that the party will send Anita Sah, Sonu Murmur, Abdul Khan, Binita Kumari Singh and Goma Sapkota to the Parliament.
