NC recommends Deepak Manage from Manang ‘B’ provincial seat

KATHMANDU: The Manang district committee of the Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to support the candidacy of Rajeev Gurung aka Deepak Manange for Manang (B) seat of Gandaki Province Assembly.

The committee’s meeting held on Thursday took the decision to this extent. Gurung, who helped the coalition parties to form the government in Gandaki Province, is the province’s Minister of Sports.

Interestingly, he was elected to the province assembly with the support of CPN-UML.

Manange had started his political career through NC’s youth organization Nepal Tarun Dal. However, he resigned from the party very soon.

The district committee has recommended Tak Bahadur Gurung for the federal election. Gurung is the central committee member of the party and the immediate past president of the district committee.

Similarly, it recommended Chung Gurung (Karma) as the candidate under the proportionate system for the House of Representatives.

Likewise, it has recommended four names – Sangdo Lama, Chandra Ghale, Chhiring Ghyalpo Lama and Munindra Jung Gurung for the Manang ‘B’ provincial seat.

The meeting has recommended Mahendra Ghale as a candidate under the proportionate system for Manang ‘A’, and Karma Gurung and Gita Gurung for Manang ‘B’.
