Maoist Center SC meeting decides to take action against election rebels



KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center today has decided to take action against those involved in sabotage in the local elections and to investigate the problems in the student wing of the party.

According to party spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara,  Friday’s SC meeting held at party’s central office in Paris Danda, Kathmandu made four decisions.

Mahara informed that the meeting decided to form a three-member investigation committee to investigate the allegations of sabotage in the local level election. The committee comprising Mukti Pradhan and Khimlal Devkota is chaired by Tank Rai, coordinator of the party’s discipline department.

Similarly, a suggestion committee comprising former student leaders Ramesh Malla, Narendra Neupane and Ratna Dhakal has been formed to solve the problems in the party’s student wing. The standing committee will make the necessary decision based on their suggestions.

Likewise, a Provincial Coordination Committee has been formed under the leadership of the in-charge to maintain coordination between the Provincial Committee and the Central Committee. This committee is only for the next election. It will have all the central members and all the province officials.

Mahara added that the meeting also decided to conducting trainings and meetings in all provinces.  The trainings will start on August 1 and will end on August 19.
