KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall is likely to take place in some parts of the country with partial to complete changes in weather conditions across the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a high chance of heavy rainfall in some places of the province-1 and Bagmati province along with limited parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces due to the effects of monsoon wind.

Likewise, light to medium rain with thunders and lightning is predicted in several areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and in some areas in remaining provinces.

With high chance of heavy rainfall in some areas of province 1 and Madhesh province and in 1-2 areas in remaining provinces, there is likelihood of soil erosion and landslide in mountainous parts.

The Department has urged all to adopt necessary precautionary measures for safety in view of rise in the water level in rivers and rivulets.
