Landslide disrupts Maldhunga-Beni road

BENI: The Maldhunga-Beni road section along the Kaligandaki Corridor has been disrupted since last night.

Transport service has come to a halt after landslide occurred from a cliff due to incessant rain since Friday evening covered the road.

The District Traffic Police Office of Parbat shared that a big landslide had occurred nearby Kushma municipality-1, Maldhunga in Parbat.

Though dozers and trippers are kept standby for clearing off the debris, it has been a tough job due to continuous rainfall, informed Police Inspector at Parbat District Police Office, Rajendra Adhikari.

He further said efforts would be made to open the disrupted traffic immediately after rainfall came to an end.

Due to road obstruction, vehicles leaving from Myagdi and Mustang have been stranded at Khaniyaghat while vehicles bound to the districts from other places are blocked at Maldhunga.

Some vehicles are moving through the alternative route via Baglung.

The under-construction road has been disrupted for over last two weeks due to torrential rain.
