Lawmaker Rawal says govt cannot escape from managing garbage of KTM Valley



KATHMANDU: Lawmaker Dr Bhim Bahadur Rawal has drawn the attention of the government to manage the garbage of Kathmandu Valley.

Taking part in deliberation on different headings under the Appropriation Bill in Thursday’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), Rawal opined that the government should not escape from the responsibility of garbage management saying managing the garbage is the responsibility of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

He also requested the government not to put the health of the people at the risk.

On the occasion, lawmaker Rawal criticized the state of heading towards the path of neo-liberalism and capitalism, which have already become failure in the world.

He sought answer from the government, saying how the government would manage the country’s economy at a time when the per capita debt of per Nepali has reached Rs 60,000.

Rawal shared the silence of the government on the issue of Lipu pass, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani would not safeguard the independence and freedom.

Similarly, another lawmaker Girirajmani Pokharel said that it was necessary to collect the details of returnee migrants for the economic growth of the country. He also urged to utilize their skill in promotion of entrepreneurship.

Pokharel requested the government to incorporate all sectors to bring in private investment.

Lawmaker Pokharel complained over allocation of less amount of budget in Madhes under the heading of Climate Adaption Comprehensive Drinking Water Project. He also demanded the government to inform the House about the Nepal visit of officers of US Army and US visit of Nepali Army.
