Rainfall forecast in many places; floods in eastern region

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said that it will rain in many parts of the country even today.

In some places, the rain has not stopped since the night. Meteorologist Nirajan Sapkota said that it is likely to rain again in the afternoon in Kathmandu and other places where the rain has stopped.

According to Sapkota, it has been raining continuously in many places of State 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhes recently. In other states, it has rained only in some places.

Meanwhile, meteorologists have warned of the risk of floods and landslides in the eastern region due to continuous rains as the previous rains have soaked the land.

People living on sloping lands and the banks of rivers and streams exercise caution. In Nepal, the monsoon is usually said to start on June 13, but it started on June 5 this year.

The central and western regions are affected by local winds and the east-west low-pressure line in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar India.
