Two killed, 25 injured in separate road accidents



KATHMANDU: Two people died in separate road accidents in Udayapur, Kailai, and Sindhuli districts.

A 20-year-old Bhupendra Chaudhary of Triyuga municipality-1, Bhulke died when a motorcycle, Pradesh 1-05-001 Pa 4468, met with an accident on Sunday night.

Similarly, a pedestrian died after being struck by a motorcycle with an undisclosed number plate number at Bhajani municipality-6, in the Kailali district.

The deceased is 70-year-old Bhaddu Dagaura of Bhajani municipality-2.

Police said they have launched a manhunt for the absconding motorcyclist.

Likewise, 25 people sustained injuries when a tractor met with an accident at Tinpatan rural municipality-11 in Sindhuli.

Nine of the injured are receiving treatment at Lampantar-based primary health post while 11others have been referred to District Hospital, Sindhuli. Five of them have been discharged after treatment.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the tractor driver into custody.
