Lightning kills minor girl, injures three in Tehrathum



TEHRATHUM: A minor girl has died and three others sustained injuries after being struck by lightning in the Tehrathum district.

The deceased has been identified as 10-year-old Mina Kandangwa of Athrai rural municipality-6, Chuhandanda, said Police Inspector Sheshak Ram Thandar of Area Police Office, Sankranti.

Critically injured Mina breathed her last while being rushed to Phidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar.

The lightning had struck her at around 5:30 pm yesterday.

According to Thandar, Dil Kumar Thopra Limbu, 51, Lalita Thopra Limbu, 35, Sukra Raj Thopra, Limbu, 37, were injured in the lightning strikes.

They are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Panchthar.
