Dipendra Singh Airee in ‘ICC Player of the Month’ nomination



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee has been nominated for the International Cricket Council’s Player of the Month list made public on Wednesday.

ICC’s best players of the month nomination includes Airee of Nepal, Shreyas Iyer of India and Vritya Arvind of UAE.

ICC will announce the winner on the basis of voting.

Although Nepal could not be selected in the global selection of ICC T20 World Cup and remained in the third place, Nepal’s all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee performed well. He also took 6 wickets for 159 runs in the tournament. Airee also took four wickets for 142 runs in the series against Oman, UAE and Ireland.

Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer also batted well in the ODIs against the West Indies and in the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka.

Vritya Arvind of UAE has led the team to the ICC T20 World Cup by batting brilliantly in the global selection. Arvind, 19, has scored 267 runs in five games.
