Struggle continues unabated: Chair Dahal



KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said he would keep on struggling for announcing martyrs to those killed in different times including the people’s movement.

At a program organized to release a memorial book on martyrs Suresh Wagle and Bhimsen Pokharel in Kathmandu on Thursday, Chairperson Dahal viewed the people killed and made disappear in different political unrests, including the people’s movement, should be declared national martyrs.

“In a particular moment of history, revolt and revolution were imperative; later, agreements were made,” he reminded, adding that Maoist party reached the government leadership all because of Nepali people’s support.

He further said when he became Prime Minister for the first time, the first Cabinet meeting had decided to declare all martyrs the national martyrs.

He, however, worried that the minute of that Cabinet decision in not available now. Why it was not published in the gazette, Chairperson Dahal wondered.

Secretary of the party Hitraj Pande said martyrs Wagle was not only a teacher but also an able organization builder. The memorial book is edited by Lekhnath Neupane.
