NEPSE loses 17.68 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost 17.68 points and closed at 2,106.15 points on Monday. The index had gained 10.27 points on Sunday.

The index registered a loss of 0.83 percent on the second trading day of the week.

The index that opened at 2,128.19 points made an intraday low of 2,102.25 and an intraday high of 2,140.26 before closing at 2,106.15 points.

A total of 6,527,414 units of shares of 214 companies traded via 44,553 transactions, resulting in daily turnover of Rs 2.85 billion. Sunday’s trading turnover was Rs 2.67 billion.

The shares of Shivam Cements Limited recorded the highest turnover while the shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited traded the most.

Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Himalayan Hydropower Limited emerged as the highest gainers for the day with circuit level gain of 10 percent while Janaki Finance Limited was the highest loser, losing 4.31 percent.

Of the 13 sectors, only two sector indices closed green, “Others” lost the highest 2.42 percent while “Mutual Fund” gained the highest 0.27 percent.
