Ruling alliance: Seat allocation task force meeting today



KATHMANDU: The first meeting of the task force formed to allocate seats for the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20 is being held today.

The five-party ruling coalition formed an 11-member task force to work on the distribution of the seats to be allotted to the ruling parties.

A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition on August 5 issued a joint statement formally deciding to contest the November 20 elections by allotting seats on the basis of understanding.

On the same day, the meeting formed a task force to work on the allocation of seats.

The meeting of the task force will be held at 3 pm in Baluwatar, Prime Minister’s official residence.

Today’s meeting will discuss the allocation of seats on the basis of consensus.

The task force has three members from Nepali Congress (NC) and two members each from the other four parties.
