Nepal sees 98 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, Nepal recorded a total of 98 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Friday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 83 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 15 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 2,154 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,061 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,093 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 564 active cases in the country as 27 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,952 to date.
