Chaite Chhath concludes



JALESHWOR: The Chaite Chhath concluded today in the Mithila region including in the district of Mahottari with the offering made to the rising sun this morning.

Celebrated for the past four days with different rituals, the Chaite Chhath was concluded today with much fanfare in the districts of Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha, Saptari and others after offering Argha. Those observing fast visited historical ponds like Ganga Sagar and Argajal to make the offerings to the rising sun including specially made delicacies, fruits and agro-produces.

Women take the lead during this festival, with a resolution for the welfare of their families and societies. This festival is received as a victory of truth over violence and sympathy to all living creatures. The devotees presented offerings, worshipped the statue of Chhati Mai on the banks of rivers and ponds and lit oil lamps.
