Ruling coalition meeting underway at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling alliance is underway at Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is holding a meeting of the ruling coalition at his official residence in Baluwatar.

According to a Baluwatar source, the meeting is dwelling on the upcoming local level elections among other contemporary political issues.

It is learnt that the election committee led by senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel will present a progress report on the electoral alliance.

The ruling coalition has formed a committee led by Poudel for the preparation, mobilization  and monitoring of the upcoming local level elections. Today’s meeting is also expected to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming elections.

Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party, and Rashtriya Janamorcha Nepal are in the ruling alliance.

The local level election is being held on May 13.
