National Women’s Beach Volleyball: Four matches taking place today



TANSEN: Four matches are being held under the Sanjaya Memorial National Women’s Beach Volleyball tournament at Ranimahal in Palpa today.

The first match will be held between Armed Police Force and Lumbini.

Similarly, Sudurpaschim will take on Bagmati in the second match, Nepal Police Club versus Karnali in the third while Gandaki Pradesh will lock horns with Pradesh 1 in the fourth match, informed Niroj Maske, the chairman of Sanjaya Memorial Academy.

As many as six matches were held on Thursday which are taking place on the premises of Ranimahal.

Inaugurating the tournament, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Damodar Regmi said Ranimahal could be made the capital of beach volleyball.

Speaking on the occasion, the mayor of Tansen municipality Ashok Kumar Shahi said that tourism could be promoted with the help of sports.

The winner of the women’s beach volleyball will receive a purse of Rs 100,000 as a cash prize while the first runner-up will get Rs 50,000.

Similarly, the second runner-up will be given away Rs 30,000.
