NC will contest upcoming polls alone, says Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said that the NC will not form an alliance with any parties in the upcoming elections.

Talking to media persons today, leader Koirala said that the NC will not form an electoral alliance with any parties in upcoming local, provincial and federal elections.

“NC, now, will contest the elections alone. NC leaders and cadres have expressed their intent that they will not cast votes in other election symbols except for the tree,” said Koirala.

On a different note, Koirala said that the party will face a debacle if the party president takes decisions and moves ahead arbitrarily. “The president has to be the president of all the party rank and file, not only in words but also in actions,” said Koirala.

He underlined the need to resume the House proceedings by taking the CPN-UML into confidence and break the illusion surrounding the MCC at the earliest.
