Valley CDOs to hold talks to discuss COVID-19 control measures



KATHMANDU: A meeting of three Chief District Officers of Kathmandu Valley is scheduled to be held to discuss prevention of coronavirus infection.

Following the COVID-19 Crisis Management Crisis Management Center’s (CCMCC’s) Friday meeting’s direction to take immediate preventive measures to curb and control third-wave of coronavirus  pandemic, the valley CDOs will be discussing on the measures to be taken instantly.

Prior to the  valley CDO’s meeting, District COVID-19 Crisis Management Crisis Management Center (DCCMCC) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts will discuss about the health situations in the valley.

The CCMCC chaired by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had expressed serious concern over the coronavirus vulnerability.

The CCMCC meeting is set to resume on Sunday. The health ministry is scheduled to brief the prime minister on coronavirus condition Sunday.

After that, in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the three CDOs will decide on infection prevention according to the smart lockdown procedure. Kathmandu CDO Govinda Prasad Rijal hinted that a meeting of the three administrations would be held on Monday to decide on controlling the congested areas.

He said that discussions will be held to close all the congested areas such as transport, landlord, school, college, cinema house and club without closing all the areas at once.

“We will first review the situation in the district and decide on how to manage the congested area between the three CDOs,”  CDO Rijal said.

Friday witnessed alarming surge in the coronavirus cases in the country doubling it to take it 968 cases in 24 hours on Friday.
