Call to roll back tax increase

POKHARA: The Nepali Congress Gandaki Provincial Committee has demanded immediate cancellation of the taxes raised by the Gandaki province government.

Party spokesperson Madhav Prasad Banstola has drawn the government’s attention towards the decision causing suffering to the people and demanded that last year’s tax rate kept unchanged.

Decisions have been taken against the sentiments of the people, which needs to be immediately amended.

The party has said it has taken serious note of the complaints received from the common citizens that the taxes related to transport and land have increased unexpectedly compared to the previous year in the budget of the Gandaki government for the year 2022/23.

Meanwhile, the party welcomed the federal government’s announcement to hold the elections for the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly on November 20 and urged the party leaders and workers to go among the people with high morale to ensure the victory in the elections.
