SAPTARI: With the rise in water level in the Saptakoshi River, 33 out of 56 sluice gates at its barrage have been opened.

The water level in the river was recorded to be 225,350 Cusec per second this afternoon, shared the Koshi Barrage Control Room.

According to the Department of Weather Forecast, the water level has increased in the river due to incessant rain in the watershed area.

The local administration has asked the local residents of Udayapur, Sunsari and Saptari districts to remain on high alert in view of the risk.
