Voters’ name list collection to begin from June 15



KATHMANDU: In view of upcoming elections to the Provincial Assembly and House of Representatives (HoR), the Election Commission (EC) is starting the collection and update of the voters’ namelist from June 15.

Earlier, the voters’ namelist collection and update was postponed from January 15 after the announcement of the Local Level Election, 2022.

EC’s Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said those obtaining citizenship and other eligible as per the Voters Namelist Act, 2017 could register their names from the Province Election Office, District Election Office, District Administration Office and Area Administration Office.

As per the new schedule, the voters can lodge application in the concerned offices for the correction of the errors in registration, change their address and remove their name from the voters’ name-list as well.

The EC has urged all voters to update their details and register their name so that no one will be missed out in the upcoming elections.

Likewise, the EC has appealed to the political parties and stakeholders to assist in the voters’ namelist collection and update programme.
