Kami Rita Sherpa sets new record in climbing, summits Everest for 26th time

KATHMANDU: Mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa has set a record by climbing Mt. Everest for the 26th time.

According to Seven Summit Treks, Kami Rita led an 11-member team to reach the summit of Everest on Saturday. He reached the Everest top at 6.55 pm today.

His team reached the Everest top making route and hanging rope for the climbers.

Born in 1970 in Thame, Solukhumbu, Kami Rita holds the record for most climbs since 2018.

Earlier, he broke Appa Sherpa’s record by climbing Mt. Everest for the 22nd time on May 16, 2018.
