Defeat of regressive alliance formed by UML a must: Prachanda

BUTWAL: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the regressive forces should be defeated in the upcoming election.

Addressing an election rally at Janakpurdham-13 in Dhanusha on Saturday, the Maoist Center chair remarked that the election was a battle between the people and the enemy of the people.

“This election is about moving forward, people have to choose between the proponents of peace, progress and development and the regressive forces leading the country towards feudalism and autocracy,” Prachanda said, adding, “It is not just about voting.”

Claiming that the current ruling coalition would protect the constitution and the republic, Prachanda termed the opposition CPN-UML alliance as reactionary and feudal.

“Our alliance is for the safeguard of democracy and achievements of the people’s movement whereas the alliance formed under UML is to unite the reactionaries, feudalists and royalists,” Prachanda said.

He appealed the public to vote for the coalition candidates.
