35 percent physical progress achieved in Nagdhunga tunnel

KATHMANDU: The physical progress in the Nagdhunga tunnel way has reached around 35 percent while the economic progress is 43 percent.

The Nagdhunga Tunnel Way Project said 76 percent of the road construction was finished while the progress on dam is 37 percent. So far, construction of overpass is completed and flyover is under construction.

Development of two underpasses out of three is done and three box culverts are also constructed. Likewise, two out of three bridges have also completed. Till date, 1.1 km of the main tunnel is completed out of its total 2.6 km length.

The Project further shared that development of 1,384 meters of exit tunnel is finished out of total 2,557 meters. The Project has already completed the working audit as well. Similarly, 48 out of 128 meters of the cross passage is over.

The Nagdhunga Tunnel, which is the first of its kind in the country, is being developed with the concessional loan assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
