Five-party coalition forges electoral alliance in Palpa



RAMPUR: Five political parties of Palpa have forged an electoral alliance for the civic poll scheduled to take place on coming May 13.

The ruling coalition partners, including Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Rastriya Janamorcha, and Janata Samajwadi Party have come up with an electoral alliance in the local election.

A meeting of the mechanism of ruling coalition parties on Wednesday decided to forge electoral alliance in all local level governments of the district.

The district-level mechanism was developed under the leadership of Palpa Congress President Himal Dutta Shrestha for forging alliance of the parties.

The mechanism would consult with the coalition parties and finalize names of the candidates at local level, Shrestha informed.

According to the mechanism sources, a meeting of the task force comprising three representatives each from coalition parties would finalize the candidates on April 8.
