Instead of developing Narayanhiti as a grand museum, KP Oli leased it to businessmen: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused then Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli of handing over historical Narayanhiti Museum to businessmen despite his (Nepal’s) request to promote the museum as a grand site.

Speaking at a program organized by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Committee of the Unified Socialist Party, Chairman Nepal remarked that no one should be allowed to do business inside the Narayanhiti Museum.

“I proposed to develop Narayanhiti museum as a grand historical site and told them not to set up shop in Narayanhiti; however, then Prime Minister Oli did not allow the implementation of my proposal,” Unified-Socialist Chair said adding, “He allowed traders to open restaurants there and encouraged corruption.”

He also accused KP Oli of dilly-dallying grand-projects like fast track connecting Kathmandu and Terai and Nijgadh Airport merely because they were initiated by him (Nepal).
