Maoist Center’s CC meet postponed due to coronavirus



KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center has been postponed after the coronavirus infection was found in the employees at the party’s Central Office.

According to Maoist Center’s Central Office Secretary Shree Ram Dhakal, the second meeting of the Central Committee scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed after finding six employees, including Secretary Dor Prasad Upadhyaya, coronavirus positive.

The Central Committee meeting was scheduled to finalize the names of the office bearers.

Considering the spiking coronavirus cases, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has also canceled most of  the meeting.

Dhakal informed that the Central Committee meeting has been postponed till January 22.

The postponement has adversely affected the selection process of office bearers.

8th General Convention of the Maoist Center assigned the task of selection of politburo members and office bearers.

The Maoist Center will have 15 office bearers, including senior Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Deputy general secretary and treasurer.
