NEPSE declines by 5 points, transaction amount shrinks below 1 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 4.87 points on the third trading day of the week, Tuesday.

The market, which increased by 2 points on the first day of the week, fell by 24 points in the second trading day.

The market index fell by 0.25 percent to 1933.88.

In terms of sub-groups, life insurance, micro finance and other groups increased by 0.01, 0.28 and 0.57 percent respectively, while the share prices of the remaining 10 groups declined.

While the share prices of 78 companies rose, the share prices of 109 companies fell.

Likewise, the market which witnessed the transactions above Rs. 1 billion in first two days of the week went down today.

Shares worth Rs 965.2 million were bought and sold today.

Shares of Dhaulagiri Microfinance, Citizen Mutual Fund, Support Micro Finance, Himalayan Bank, Khaptad Microfinance and Others are among the companies with high earning.
